I remember her as such a loving devoted daughter. She visited her mother, Gwen everyday during her extended illness. She was a lovely lady!

Yesterday (Nov 18) I was saddened to learn of Joanne's passing. i am so sorry that I did not learn of it in a more timely fashion. We remember her as an extraordinary educator, dedicated and creative MPEA bargaining team member, and a dear friend. Heaven has a new angel now. My heart goes out to Joanne's family. Joanne was such a dear friend and mentor. I taught along side of her for many years in the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools. We enjoyed the trips with her to Ft. Wayne each summer to work on our genealogy. She loved gardening and always shared some of her plants with me. Even now, some of them are still with me here in Houghton Lake. She will be missed by many.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Joanne. I have many good memoires of spending time with her and her family , when we were young, in Williamston. Her sister, Jeannette, was a very good friend. Joan Morse bement

My deepest, deepest sympathy to the Van Syckle family. I am deeply saddened to learn of "Joannie's" passing. I hold dear many fond memories of our friendship in the past.
